The President's Roundtable

Established by the President and the Board of Trustees of Louisville Seminary in the spring of 1995, members of The President's Roundtable serve three-year terms and are limited to two consecutive three-year terms. The number of members ranges from 30 to 50, depending on expiring terms and other variables. Currently the membership stands at 34.

The Roundtable is an ecumenical body that works with Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary to support, educate and influence one another through: 1) studying contemporary issues facing the Church and theological education today, and 2) building and maintaining mutual communication and support between Louisville Seminary and the congregations, governing bodies, and denominational offices served by the Seminary.

The Roundtable is convened annually during September and the meetings last all day Friday and Saturday morning. Topics covered in recent meetings include:

1. Student panels introducing merit scholars
2. The pastoral search process: how it works
3. Spirituality and the practice of lectio divina
4. The admissions process: how it works

The major emphasis during the meetings is placed on interacting with the students. As much student contact as possible is built into each meeting. Another priority of the meetings is providing the opportunity for Roundtable members to give feedback to the Seminary. Dress during the meetings is casual with the occasional dress dinner.

Members receive letters quarterly throughout the year with updates on Seminary activities and news.
